One easy way to increase the reach of your blog posts is to allow your current readers to easily share your post via their social media platforms, using Social Share Buttons.
What are Social Share Buttons?
To make this as easy as possible, add share buttons to your blog post. Share buttons are the twitter, facebook etc, buttons as seen as the top of this post. When you click these it will share this post on the social platform.
How to add Social Share Buttons?
Social Share buttons can be added using a wordpress plugin, there are many plugins for this but the best one I have found and works great with Genesis Child themes is Genesis Simple Share.
From your dashboard goto Plugins and Add New. Now search for Genesis Simple Share.
Click install and wait for the plugin to be installed, once installed active the plugin.
The default settings should automatically enable the share icons on posts.
How to configure your plugin.
You may wish to make some changes so in your WordPress dashboard hover over the Genesis menu item and click the Simple Share menu item in that submenu.
Once there you can choose which post types Simple Share will be active on, if it should show on archives, and which icons to enable. You can also drag and drop the icons to change the order they will display in on your site. You may wish to add your Twitter user name to the twitter icon settings. This will add a via: @username after the share text on Twitter. You may also add a URL to an image to use as the default image.
Once you have configured the setting for the plug in, you users will easily be able to share your post on their social media platforms, so their friends and fans will see your post.
